Using this Pokemon Walkthrough can make the game too easy and spoil the enjoyment of the game for you.

Pallet Town.
First you start off at Ash's home in Pallet Town. You are in your room in front of a SNES walk up to and press the a button and the game will let you play it. Go to your computer access it and pick up the potion from the box this is a pokemon healing potion and may come in handy if your Pokemon becomes injured. One point of note is that to get on in the game is that you must talk to people that you meet. For instance if you talk to your mum she will heal you and your pokemon you can use this to your advantage if you don't have any potions etc. Go to the lab and talk to Professor Oak he will then offer you a choice of three Pokemon.

1 - Bulbasaur: This is the easiest of the three Pokemon to evolve it has some good attacks like vine whip and razor leaf these are effective agaianst Rock Pokemon which you will meet at Mt Moon. Bulbasaur is a grass/Poison Pokemon and is probarbly the first choice for your first Pokemon.
2 - Squirtle: This is a powerful little Pokemon, choosing this will give you a harder start than Bulbasaur. One advantage this will give you later in the game is that you will have a more powerful Pokemon than Bulbasaur. This is really your second choice to start with.
3 - Charmander: Is the hardest Pokemon to start with, His attacks are not really strong enough to cope with rock/ground Pokemon that you will meet up with at Mt Moon. One upside to this disadvantage is that when it evolves it will be really powerful. Charmander is for experienced masters who want a challenge to start the game with.

The way to Viridian City.
Most important things - Get Potion from Trainer and Get Professor Oak's Parcel and deliver it. The first thing you need to do is find the map, to do this stop by Gary's (your rival) house the upper right side of Pallet Town. Inside the house yo will find Gary's sister talk to her and she will give you a map of the Pokeworld very useful if you get lost. Next it is time to start playing the game properly and on to your first adventure. Go to your mums if your Pokemon was hurt in the fight with Gary and she will heal it. Then its out on route 1 to Viridian City. stay out of the high grass for now as on the way back yo should come back with some Pokeballs and the chance to catch some Rattata and Pidgeys. If you do come accross any pokemon then fight them to build up your Pokemon statistics. On your way to Viridian City you will meet some people talk to them some are nice some just want to fight the first will offer you a potion. When you arrive in Varidian City talk to as many prople as you can.

At Viridian City -
The first thing you should do if your Pokemon was injured on the way here is to go to the Pokemon Centre and have him healed. Here you can access your computer or go to the cable club and battle your friends. Every city has a Pokemon Centre except Pallet Town. When you have finished at the Pokemon Centre go to the Pokemon Mart, here you can buy things like pokeballs and potions, but first you will get a package. They will ask you to take package to Professor Oak, so take the package and buy whatever else you want.

Get some pokeballs so you can catch some pokemon on your way back to Pallet Town, carry on building up the stats of your Pokemon on the way back and try your luck in the long grass at catching some Rattata and Pidgeys.

Back at Pallet Town.
Back at Pallet Town you should visit profesor Oak and give him his parcel. Gary will come back and he will talk to you he will then give you the Pokedex which has listings of all the pokemon in the game.

Meeting Gary again and catcing a Pokemon.
Route 22 - The Pokemon you can catch - Pidgey-Bird - Rattata-Rat - Spearow-Bird - Nidoran (Male) - Nidoran (Female). When you have gained the Pokdex head back to Viridian City and catch a few Pokemon. When you have caught a few Pokemon and gained a bit more experience at playing the game go find Gary on Route 22. Fighting your rival is a great way to make money and build levels, You can also fight other trainers to gain cash.

Route 2 and Viridian Forest.
Pokemon to catch - Pidgey - Rattata - Weedle - Kakuna - Caterpie - Metapod - Pikachu. Route 2 has some of the best starting pokemon you can get of which Pikachu is the best. He may be hard to find but he is one of the best pokemon you can start with.

Pewter City and the 1st Badge you can earn. At Pewter City it possible to get your first badge the Boulder Badge. Go to the gym and beat the gym leader. The gym has one trainer there to help you get ready for Brock, the gym leader. Brock isn't that Difficult to beat if you have some ground or bug pokemon. However they should be at least level 13 although It would be better if you already have evolved bulbasaur into Ivysaur.

Brocks Pokemon are as follows - Geodude at Level 12 and Onix at Level 14.

When you have beaten Brock he will hand you the Boulder Badge the Boulder Badge will let you use FLASH (HM05) anytime you like. He will also give you TM34 or Bide. Bide is a power-filled attack that will harm any pokemon badly if used with the right pokemon! After your fight with Brock you will want to heal your pokemon at the Pokemon Center. Then you might want to stop at the Mart for all your Pokemon items.

Before you leave Pewter City you shold go to the museum it costs 50 GP but it is worth going just for the amount of information that they have on Pokemon. Also, once you get CUT(HM01) you can go to the other side of the museum and get the amber. Later in the game you can use the amber to bring a old pokemon back to life. After exploring Pewter City, it's time to move on and see whats at Route 3 and mount moon for you.

Route 3.
The Pokemon that yo can catch - Pidgey - Spearow - Jigglypuff.

Route 3 is a good route to Mt Moon because it has trainers every 10 feet in total there are 9 trainers this is a good place to earn money and to get the experience of your main Pokemon up. Just outside Mt Moon there is a Pokemon Centre go in and get your Pokemon healed and save your game as the next section is not too easy. Inside you will meet a guy who is selling MagiKarp for 500GP but don't buy as they are useless and they are catchable later on in the game when you have the fishing rod.

Now it is time to go to Mt Moon.
Items that you can find - 2 Potions - TM's 12 and 1 - Rare Candy - Moon Stone - HP UP - Escape Rope - Get a fossil.

Go back and find the items when you are ready for now i will tell yo the easiest way through MT Moon. Start at the entrance, Go 13 Paces Up Go 6 Pace Right, Go 10 Paces Up, Go 10 Paces Right, Go 5 Paces Up, Go 14 Paces Left, Go 10 Paces Down, Go 10 Paces Left, Go 12 Paces Up, Go Down the ladder to your left, Go Down and then Left untill you get to the next Ladder. You should now be on the basement floor. Using the Escape Rope climb out of Mt Moon.

Bottom section of Mt Moon to the Cerulean City.
Start From Ladder - Go 3 Paces Up, Go 6 Paces Right, Go 2 Paces Down, Go 6 Paces Right, Go 2 Paces Up, Go 3 Paces Right, Go 8 Paces Down, Go 2 Paces Left, Go 9 Paces Down, Go 23 Paces Left, Go 12 Paces Up, Fight Trainer, Go 2 Paces Right Go 10 Paces Up, Fight Trainer, Get Fossil. To get out Just go up and to the left then Down. There is a ladder that will take you up, then another that will take you out. Pokemon that you can catch if you wish - Rattata - Spearow - Ekans (Red Version Only) - Sandshrew (Blue Version Only).

Route 4
This route is boring there is only 1 trainer so go for it and beat her then keep going left until you reach Cerulean City.

Cerulean City
Just rest and buy supplies you are trapped here. This city contains the Bike Shop where you can buy a bike that costs 1,000,000 Don't panic, you can get one for free a when you pick up the voucher later on in the game. Now to fight the Gym Leader Misty.

Misty's Pokemon are as follows - Staryu - L18, Starmie - L21 When you have beaten Misty she will give you the Cascade Badge & TM 11 This battle is easy Use Bulbasaur (It probably evolved by now) or a Pikachu with a level at about 17. Then just use Grass- or Electric-type attacks on them. This battle shouldn't take very long at all

Misty defeated you should now head north to the Nugget Bridge. Here, you fight five Trainers to get a Nugget. Before you get a chance to fight them, you must fight Gary again.

Gary's Pokemon - Pidgeotto - L18, Abra - L15, Rattata - L15, Bulbasaur/Squirtle/Charmander - L17.

With the right Pokemon, he shouldn't be very hard to beat. For Pidgetto, use Pikachu at about level 18. Just pound him with Electric-type attacks to defeat him. For Abra this is very easy all Abra knows how to do is Teleport. Just use any Pokemon and you should be okay. For Rattata and the rest, use your best Pokemon.

Now that Gary is out of the way, continue to fight the trainers on Nugget Bridge. They aren't quite as hard as Gary, so you shouldn't have all that much trouble. Defeat the five trainers and you'll get a Nugget. Then you end up fighting a Rocket member. Defeat him to continue to Route 24 and 25.

More to be added at a later date.
